Every day more and more iPad apps carry on sale in the iTunes app store. Some are from unknown developers among others are from high quality developers like EA or Gameloft. The problem is discovering these sales. You can't take a look at every app in the app store each day. This article will provide you with some tips on finding free apps and apps that carry on sale.
One starting point looking for free apps is at iTunes itself. iTunes carries a top 50 report on free apps inside Applications part of the iTunes store and within the App Store app in your iPad. It is worth looking over and seeing if you'll find any free apps you would be interested in downloading. Be aware and warned: a lot of these free apps inside top 50 allows you to download the app free of charge but require payment in order to unlock full functionality.

Finally, I recently mentioned AppAdvice inside my article about iPhone apps you rarely read about. AppAdvice is a website and app that doesn't only mentions apps that are on sale but also gives a daily report on apps that are now free. This makes it the ideal place for locating free iPad apps. The AppAdvice app costs $1.99, however.
Another app that permits you to track the prices associated with an app is BargainBin. BargainBin lets you set the cost you'd like to pay for an app you're enthusiastic about. If the app drops compared to that price or below BargainBin will provide you with a push notification on your iPad. You can then elect to buy or otherwise not. I have used this app for a while and found so that it is very useful if this worked. However, it turned out very slow at times and even crashed often. You might have better luck than me.
There are some other apps designed for your iPad that serve a similar purpose as BargainBin, but I have not found one that worked too (when it works).
