Iraq War Movie Titles

Iraq War Movie Titles! Watching movies "online for free" is a common practice. Even for movies that have not even been to DVD yet you can find sites everywhere where people can post movies to look at that people have secretly taken a relevant video camera into a movie showing and recorded the whole movie for their computer. After that it just takes a search of the internet to locate said movie. While the experience is not the same as spending money on it and seeing it within the theater those who just want to see a movie can find myriads of places online to view.

Even YouTube has places for fan videos that disguise themselves as places to watch movies online. Piracy was previously getting bootleg copies of VHS tapes and DVDs the good news is movie piracy may be even harder to manage thanks to the internet.

Financial Fallout

Movie piracy cost U.S. movie studios over 1.3 billion dollars in 2005 mostly as a result of internet in a article posted to Torrent Freak. A 2004 survey conducted by the Motion Picture Associated of America claims that of 3,600 internet surfers surveyed 24 percent said that they downloaded a show online as outlined by an article in PC World. Surely the numbers has to be even more chances are. Further, 69% of the respondents felt that downloading a movie online wasn't a "major concern."

More recently, downloading movies and streaming these phones internet is so prevalent in Spain that that amount of DVD stores has dropped 25% since 2003 and the illegal pirating of movies is threatening to end the DVD industry in Spain altogether. Business Insider quoted Michael Lynton of Sony as saying "Spain is for the brink of don't being a viable market for us." This was in late March of 2010.

The symptom in Spain might be a Catch-22. If DVDs are no more sold in Spain then the market for pirated copies of movies may even more lucrative and pirates gets more creative and more ardent for the product. Just like making drugs illegal the demand won't go away so prices will spike with an entire underground community may develop and things may get even more out of control.

Perhaps one more reason for piracy in addition to not investing in expensive movie tickets is spoofed in this piece on Business Insider. Like movies in the theater, DVDs will have previews, trailers, and advertising to them. When you can watch a pirated copy without having ads that simply simply extends to the movie without 10 minutes worth of advertising, probably the feeling of apathy in our consumerist contemporary society is reaching a breaking point.

Anti-Piracy Measures

France and Britain are at the forefront in anti-piracy measures. In a New York Times article in March of 2010, Parliament is about the verge of considering a law that would allow authorities to totally cut off online to people who download movies illegally online. France has already passed a law as such but has yet to implement it. Civil liberties groups are watching legislation closely and therefore are wary that this measure might go too far.

While these laws are made to protect a niche industry from losing profits, again we must point to illegal drugs just as one mirror to movie piracy. The problem with drugs aren't the tiny time dealers that are trying to make a living when they don't know any other way nevertheless the large suppliers and drug cartels who provide them with the drugs inside first place. Movie downloaders are probably the same way. The problem really should not be the people who watch free movies online for free but those who pirate the flicks and put them for the internet inside the first place. Cut off the head and the body dies.

In late March of 2010, The Hollywood Reporter posted a selective article stating how the US Copyright Group has sued over 20,000 torrent users for illegal piracy of movies. Another lawsuit is forthcoming that targets more than 30,000 users for five particular movie titles. It appears the film market is not taking this lightly.

New Formats

Blu-Ray discs and the new 3-D format might help to tackle the piracy symptom in their own way. If a motion picture is being touted as only able to be seen in 3-D that would be harder to get a copy from it straight out of a camera version taken in the movie theater. The DVD will be the only way to look at it.

Another approach to combat piracy would be to make online services such as Netflix cheaper. What you would lose in price could possibly be made up for in volume. Perhaps making movie ticket prices somewhat cheaper would help too. There are all sorts of things the film industry can do in order to combat piracy which includes nothing to do with filing a case.

For these measures being delivered to sue those that break the law there are always sites like YouTube that usually can't keep up with illegal downloads. Episodes of tv programs, movies, plus more can be found on sites like YouTube, Veoh, and LiveVideo all at no cost. Until those websites might be more vigilant about getting rid of copyrighted content then individuals will continue to look at pirated videos.

On the whole, movie piracy is bad for that film industry as they lose money. The problem then becomes when they can stem the piracy problem will movie ticket prices actually go down? Will online viewing services like NetFlix lower their prices if the movie marketplace is recouping all of this money? There has got to be a give-and-take attitude concerning this problem. There has have got to be some incentive for users to want to pay for a film. Spending money is usually good for your economy even if it means purchasing enjoying a movie.

Another the answer to consider may be the current state with the economy. People are still hurting financially and can want to get things free of charge or little cost for as long as possible. When that carrot goes away then a movie industry must conform to lure those customers returning to seeing movies otherwise the movie piracy problem will just acquire more creative instead of disappear completely.
