Tv Online Hot! Your Thanksgiving free movie list is only two movies long, but what movies! Unlike Halloween (that I offered you a list of 100 free scary movies here), Thanksgiving needs a different twist. Neither more likely to be specific to Thanksgiving, but they relate to some themes of the holiday. Frankly, I can enjoy these free movies for Thanksgiving and for any day of the year.

Big oil company propaganda which has a heart! Just the free movie we want for Thanksgiving! This 78-minute semi-documentary from 1948 is one in the most lyrical American films ever made. In 1994, The Louisiana Story was selected for preservation inside the United States National Film Registry through the Library of Congress to be "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." It is the story of an Cajun boy and the family, living on the bayous you might say of life that individuals can barely imagine.
The boy's family rents land on the oil company, which comes in, drills, and instead gives off everything much like it was, clean and unspoiled apart from the family includes a little more money. (Yes, it turned out funded by the Standard Oil Company.)
The boy spends the majority of his time on his narrow boat (pirogue), floating over the bayous, prime snake and alligator habitat, regarding his pet raccoon. He never wears a life preserver or shoes... doesn't also have a cell phone to speak to case he gets struggling. There is not much story, simply a celebration (such stunning grayscale photography that you could well wonder what the big deal is around color) of the way of life which is no longer along with us.
All with the actors were amateurs, as well as most, this was their only film. As of April 2007, J.C. Boudreaux, who played the boy, was residing in a FEMA trailer regarding his wife of fifty-five years, after Hurricane Rita destroyed their home. (source). A white and black silent film that ends having a woman being burned alive? Oh, yes, what exactly every family needs at Thanksgiving. But, I have 3 good reasons for including The Passion of Joan of Arc in this pair of free movies for Thanksgiving.
First, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was ever made. Second, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was preserved. The director Carl Theodor Dreyer (more) died convinced that the last copy had been destroyed. In a little weirdness that sounds more like a movie than the truth, an almost complete print is discovered in 1981 in a very janitor's closet of the Norwegian mental institution.
Finally, I am grateful that individuals can watch this magnificent film, on many lists in the greatest films of them all, at no cost online at Gloria.tv, a Roman Catholic video site.
Maria Falconetti (more), who plays Joan, suffered a difficult breakdown in the making of this film, and she or he never made another film. Pauline Kael (more), a notoriously demanding film critic, declared Falconetti's performance "may be the finest performance ever upon film."
